RIMINI CITY OF ART
Ariminum is alive again, the ancient Roman city, whose historic centre still faithfully follows its quadrangular plan. It is alive again with its magnificent Tiberius Bridge, two thousand year old stone bridge of Istria, with its majestic Triumphal Arch dedicated to Caesar Augustus, with its amphitheatre, with its domus, with the vestiges and testimonies that can be found in many places of the city and with its suggestive views.
The Rimini of the Signoria is alive again, the Rimini of the '400. The Rimini that under the leadership of the Malatesta hosted the greatest protagonists of Renaissance art. They revive the daring deeds of Sigismondo and his love for the beautiful Isotta carved over the centuries and in the marble of the Malatesta Temple.
And again: the splendors of the Baroque age are revived in the works of Cagnacci or Centino, kept in the rooms of the City Museum, or those of contemporary art that make up the collection of the Palazzi dell'Arte Rimini.
But more generally, it revives the beauty of a city that has always been immersed in art, a pulsating world of history and creativity in which centuries merge at every step. So much that it is possible to walk through its streets crossing the centuries and passing by the masterpieces of the Rimini School that from '300 frescoes the church of Sant'Agostino to the most surprising works of street art.
